F = (9/5)C + 32
The 20º Celsius to Fahrenheit Formula of a given temperature can be expressed by replacing the C in the above formula with the given temperature in the centigrade scale, i.e, 20ºC.
20ºC = (9/5)20 + 32 = 68ºF
where F is the temperature obtained in Fahrenheit after conversion.

To find: Temperature of water in Fahrenheit scale.
Given:

Using 20º Celsius to Fahrenheit Formula,
F = (9/5)20 + 32
= 68 Fahrenheit.
Answer: The temperature of water in Fahrenheit is 68.
Example 2: Celsius and Fahrenheit are the scales of temperature. Using suitable conversion formulas, compare the temperatures 20°C and 20°F.
Solution:
To find: comparison between 20°C and 20°F
Using 20º Celsius to Fahrenheit Formula, 20ºC can be converted to Fahrenheit scale as,
F = (9/5)20 + 32
= 68 Fahrenheit
Thus, comparing 20°C( = 68° F) and 20°F, we get
20°C > 20°F
Answer: 20°C > 20°F, which means for the same numerical value, the temperature in the Celsius scale is more than the temperature in the Fahrenheit scale.
