What is the length of a side of a JKLM rhombus?
4 units, 8 units, 12 units, 16 units
Solution:
Given, JKLM is a rhombus
The length of the side JK is 2x + 4
The length of the side JM is 3x.
Some of the important properties of the rhombus are:
- All sides of the rhombus are equal.
- The opposite sides of a rhombus are parallel.
- The opposite angles of a rhombus are equal.
- In a rhombus, diagonals bisect each other at right angles.
- Diagonals bisect the angles of a rhombus.
We know, all sides of a rhombus are equal.
So, 3x = 2x + 4
3x - 2x = 4
x = 4
The length of the side JK = 2(4) + 4 = 8 + 4 = 12 units
The length of the side JM = 3(4) = 12 units
I.e. length of JK = length of JM
Therefore, the length of the side of the rhombus JKLM is 12 units.
What is the length of a side of a JKLM rhombus?
Summary:
The length of a side of a JKLM rhombus is 12 units.
