Subtract the quotient of 15 ÷ 3 from the sum of 33 and 7.

Solution:

When a number N is divided by D(divisor) it gives a quotient (Q) and a remainder R.

Divisor(D) × Quotient(Q) + remainder R = Number

When 15 is divided  by 3 the quotient is 5. 

The sum of 33 and 7 is 40 i.e. 33 + 7 = 40

If the quotient (5) is subtracted from the sum of 33 and 7 i.e. 40 the resulting number is 40 - 5 = 35.

Subtract the quotient of 15 ÷ 3 from the sum of 33 and 7.
