Solution:

The set of equations given are linear equations that can be solved simultaneously to find the values of variables x and y.

2x + y = 5------->(1)

3x - 2y = 4------->(2)

Multiply equation (1) by 2 and add to equation (2)

4x + 2y = 10

3x -  2y =   4

7x + 0  = 14

7x = 14

x = 2

Substituting x = 2 in (1) we get 

2(2) + y = 5 

y = 5 - 4 = 1

Therefore on solving the system of linear equations simultaneously the values of x and y obtained are 2 and 1 respectively.
