Write two Pythagorean triplets each having one of the numbers as 5.

Solution:

Given, one of the numbers is 5.

We have to write a pythagorean triplet.

For every natural number m > 1, 2m, m²-1 and m² + 1 form a pythagorean triplet.

Given, m² + 1 = 5

m² = 5 - 1

m² = 4

m = 2

So, m²-1 = (2)² - 1

= 4 - 1

= 3

So, 2m = 2(2)

= 4

Therefore, the pythagorean triplet is 3, 4, 5.
