Write the following statement in the form of algebraic expression and write whether it is monomial, binomial or trinomial. Quotient of x and 15 multiplied by x
Solution:
Given, quotient of x and 15 multiplied by x.
We have to express the statement in algebraic form and classify it.
Considering Quotient of x and 15,
Dividend = quotient × divisor + remainder
Here, remainder = 0
So, Dividend = quotient × divisor
Here, dividend = x
Divisor = 15
Now, x = quotient × 15
Quotient = x/15
Now, quotient of x and 15 multiplied by x = (x/15) × x
= x²/15
Therefore, the algebraic expression is x²/15
The expression contains one term.
Expression with one term is called a 'Monomial’.
Therefore, x²/15 is a monomial.
