Also, ordinate is 5.

Given, abscissa is negative

The vertical coordinate of a point in a plane cartesian coordinate system obtained by measuring parallel to the y-axis is called the ordinate of the point.

Given, ordinate is positive

So, the point is (-3, 5)

Therefore, the point lies in the second quadrant as the x-coordinate is negative and y-coordinate is positive.
