(d) Which is the least preferred club by girls?
(e) For which club the difference between boys and girls is the least?
(f) For which club is the difference between boys and girls the maximum?
Solution:
Given, the data given shows the choices made by girls and boys of the class VII
(a) We have to draw a bar graph for given data by choosing appropriate scale.
(b) We have to find the number of students in class VII.
Total number of girls = 15 + 24 + 10 + 19 + 27 + 21 = 116
Total number of boys = 12 + 16 + 8 + 17 + 11 + 30 = 94
Number of students in class VII = 116 + 94 = 210
(c) We have to find the most preferred club by boys.
From the graph,
Electronic club is most preferred club by boys.
(d) We have to determine the least preferred club by girls.
From the graph,
Yoga club is the least preferred club by girls.
(e) We have to find the club for which the difference between boys and girls is the least.
Difference between the number of boys and girls for Music club 15 – 12 = 3
Difference between the number of boys and girls for Dance club = 24 – 16 = 8
Difference between the number of boys and girls for Yoga club = 10 – 8 = 2
Difference between the number of boys and girls for Dramatics club = 19 – 17 = 2
Difference between the number of boys and girls for Fine Arts = 27 – 11 = 16
Difference between the number of boys and girls for Electronics club = 30 – 21 = 9
The club for which the difference between boys and girls is the least is Dramatics club.
(f) We have to find the club for which the difference between boys and girls is maximum.
The club for which the difference between boys and girls is maximum is fine arts.
