The price of a TV is ₹ 13,000. The sales tax charged on it is at the rate of 12%. Find the amount that Vinod will have to pay if he buys it
Solution:
Price of the TV = ₹ 13,000
Sales tax on the TV = 12%
We know that,
Tax = Tax% of Selling Price
Hence, Sales Tax Amount = (12/100) × 13000 = ₹ 1560
Therefore, Amount paid by Vinod = Price of the TV + Sales tax
= 13,000 + 1560
= ₹ 14,560
