The given table shows the freezing points in °F of different gases at sea level. Convert each of these into °C to the nearest integral value using the relation and complete the table, C = 5/9(F - 32)
Solution:
In the given problem we have,
C = 5/9 (F - 32).
Substituting the values for hydrogen we get,
F = -435
C = 5/9 (-435 - 32)
C = -259.44
Substituting the values for krypton we get,
F = -251
C = 5/9 (-251 - 32)
C = -157.22
Substituting the values for oxygen we get,
F = -369
C = 5/9 (-369 - 32)
C = -223
Substituting the values for helium we get,
F = -458
C = 5/9 (-458 - 32)
C = -272.22
Substituting the values for argon we get,
F = -309
C = 5/9 (-309 - 32)
C = -189.44
✦ Try This: If the freezing point at of hydrogen at sea level (°F) is -482 convert the value in °C.
To convert the value from °F to °C we will substitute the value of F in C = 5/9(F - 32) and further using properties of integers we can easily convert the freezing point.

The given table shows the freezing points in °F of different gases at sea level. Convert each of these into °C to the nearest integral value using the relation and complete the table, C = 5/9(F - 32)
Summary:
After applying the integer rules we converted the following freezing point as:
Hydrogen = -259.44 °C
Krypton = -157.22 °C
Oxygen = -223 °C
Helium = -272.22 °C
Argon = -189.44 °C
