Given the cost of 19/4 m wire is Rs.171/2

Using the unitary method, we find

The cost of 1m wire would be computed as 1 ÷ 19/4 × 171/2

= 4/19 × 171/2

=684/38

= 18

Therefore, the cost of one meter of wire is Rs. 18
