Taking x = -4/9, y = 5/12 and z = 7/18, find: (x ÷ y) × z
Solution:
It is given that
x = -4/9, y = 5/12 and z = 7/18
We know that
(x ÷ y) × z = (-4/9 ÷ 5/12) × 7/18
Reciprocal of 5/12 is 12/5
= (-4/9 × 12/5) × 7/18
It can be written as
= (-4 × 12 × 7)/ (9 × 5 × 18)
= -56/135
Therefore, (x ÷ y) × z is -56/135.
