Taking x = -4/9, y = 5/12 and z = 7/18, find: x ÷ (y ÷ z)
Solution:
It is given that
x = -4/9, y = 5/12 and z = 7/18
We know that
x ÷ (y ÷ z) = -4/9 ÷ (5/12 ÷ 7/18)
Reciprocal of 7/18 is 18/7
= -4/9 ÷ (5/12 × 18/7)
= -4/9 ÷ (15/14)
Reciprocal of 15/14 is 14/15
= -4/9 × 14/15
= -56/135
Therefore, x ÷ (y ÷ z) is -56/135.
