Solution:

Given, the layout represents two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room.

The floor area of each bedroom is 35 m².

We have to find the value of x.

We observe that the bedrooms are in rectangular shape.

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Length = x m

Breadth = 5 m

Area of bedroom = x × 5

35 = x × 5

x = 35/5

x = 7 m

Therefore, the value of x is 7 m.
