Solve: m - (m - 1)/2 = 1 - (m - 2)/3
Solution:
Given, the equation is m - (m - 1)/2 = 1 - (m - 2)/3
We have to solve the equation
On solving the equation for m,
m - m/2 + 1/2 = 1 - m/3 + 2/3
m(1 - 1/2) + 1/2 = (3 + 2)/3 - m/3
m/2 + 1/2 = 5/3 - m/3
By transposing,
m/2 + m/3 = 5/3 - 1/2
m(1/2 + 1/3) = (10 - 3)/6
m(3 + 2)/6 = 7/6
5m/6 = 7/6
5m = 7
m = 7/5
Therefore, the value of m is 7/5
✦ Try This: Solve: 2m - (2m - 4)/2 = 3 - (m - 12)/2
