Solve : 4 (3p + 2) - 5(6p -1) = 2(p - 8) - 6(7p - 4)
Solution:
Given, the equation is 4 (3p + 2) - 5(6p -1) = 2(p - 8) - 6(7p - 4)
We have to solve the equation
On solving the equation for x,
4 (3p + 2) - 5(6p -1) = 2(p - 8) - 6(7p - 4)
4(3p) + 4(2) - 5(6p) + 5(1) = 2(p) - 2(8) - 6(7p) + 6(4)
12p + 8 - 30p + 5 = 2p - 16 - 42p + 24
12p - 30p + 8 + 5 = 2p - 42p - 16 + 24
p(12 - 30) + 13 = p(2 - 42) + 8
-18p + 13 = -40p + 8
By transposing,
-18p + 40p = 8 - 13
22p = -5
p = -5/22
Therefore, the value of p is -5/22
✦ Try This: Solve : 3(2p + 3) - 6(7p -7) = 3(p - 2) - 5(5p - 3)
