Solve : (2x - 1)/5 = (3x + 1)/3
Solution:
Given, the equation is (2x - 1)/5 = (3x + 1)/3
We have to solve the equation
On solving the equation for x,
(2x - 1)/5 = (3x + 1)/3
3(2x - 1) = 5(3x + 1)
3(2x) - 3(1) = 5(3x) + 5(1)
6x - 3 = 15x + 5
By transposing,
6x - 15x = 5 + 3
x(6 - 15) = 8
-9x = 8
x = -8/9
Therefore, the value of x is -8/9
