Rohan's mother gave him ₹3xy² and his father gave him ₹5(xy²+2). Out of this total money he spent ₹(10-3xy²) on his birthday party. How much money is left with him

Solution:

Given, Rohan’s mother gave him ₹3xy²

Rohan’s father gave him ₹5(xy²+2)

Rohan spent ₹(10-3xy²) on his birthday party.

We have to find the amount of money left with him.

Total money got by Rohan = money given by mom + money given by father

= 3xy² + 5(xy² + 2)

= 3xy² + 5(xy²) + 5(2)

By combining like terms,

= 3xy² + 5xy² + 10

By distributive property,

= (3 + 5)xy² + 10

= 8xy² + 10

Total money with Rohan = ₹8xy² + 10

Amount spent by Rohan on his birthday party = ₹(10 - 3xy²)

Money left with Rohan = Total money with Rohan - money spent on his birthday party

= 8xy² + 10 - (10 - 3xy²)

= 8xy² + 10 - 10 + 3xy²

= 8xy² + 3xy²

By distributive property,

= (8 + 3)xy²

= 11xy²

Therefore, the amount of money left with Rohan is ₹11xy²
