Given point P(-6, 2) lies in the second quadrant as the x-coordinate lies in the negative x-axis and y-coordinate lies in the positive y-axis.
The perpendicular distance from the negative x-coordinate -6 to the x-axis is 2.
So, the perpendicular distance PM = 2 units
The perpendicular distance from the positive y-coordinate 2 to the y-axis is 6.
So, the perpendicular distance PN = 6 units
From the plotted graph,
M = (-6, 0)
N = (0, 2)
Therefore, the coordinates of M and N are (-6, 0) and (0, 2)
