✦ Try This: (i) Number of terms in the expression 2x + 3y + 7z is ________.
Number of terms in the expression 2x + 3y + 7z is 3
(ii) Number of terms in the expression (z - 2y)(z + 2y) is ________.
Given, (z - 2y)(z + 2y)
Using the identity (a +b) (a -b) = a² - b²
Here, a = z and b = 2y
∴ (z - 2y)(z + 2y) = z² - 4y²,
Hence, Number of terms in the expression (z - 2y)(z + 2y) is 2
