Let A = {x, y, z} and B = {1, 2}. Find the number of relations from A to B
Solution:
It is given that
A = {x, y, z}
and B = {1, 2}
Therefore,
A x B = {(x, 1), (x, 2), (y, 1), (y, 2), (z, 1), (z, 2)}
Since n (A x B) = 6,
the number of subsets of ( A x B)
= 26.
Hence, the number of relations from A to B is 26.
NCERT Solutions Class 11 Maths Chapter 2 Exercise 2.2 Question 8
Let A = {x, y, z} and B = {1, 2}. Find the number of relations from A to B.
Summary:
The sets A = {x, y, z} and B = {1, 2} are given. We have found that the number of relations from A to B is 26
