Is the area of the largest circle that can be drawn inside a rectangle of length a cm and breadth b cm (a > b) is π b² cm²? Why
Solution:
From the question, the figure is
Here the diameter of the largest circle which is inscribed in the rectangle = b cm
So the radius = diameter/2 = b/2 cm
The formula to find the area of circle is
Area = πr²
Area = π(b/2)²
So we get
Area = π b²/4 cm²
Therefore, the statement is false.
