Is the area of the circle inscribed in a square of side a cm, πa² cm²? Give reasons for your answer
Solution:
Let us consider a circle inscribed in a square
Here the radius of the circle which is inscribed inside a square of sides a cm is r = a/2
We know that
Area of circle = πr²
Where r is the radius
= π(a/2)²
= πa²/4 cm² ≠ πa² cm²
Therefore, the statement is false.
✦ Try This: Find the area of a circle that can be inscribed in a square of side 8 cm.
