Insert a rational number and an irrational number between 0.15 and 0.16
Solution:
Given, the numbers 0.15 and 0.16
Rational numbers are numbers which are in the form of p/q, where q is not equal to 0, p and q are integers.
Irrational numbers are numbers which are in decimal form.
To find a rational number R, we use the formula,
R = (p + q)/2
Let p = 0.15 and q = 0.16, we get,
R = (0.15 + 0.16)/2
R = (0.31)/2
R = 0.155.
To find an irrational number Q, we use the formula,
Q = √pq
where p and q are not perfect squares.
Q = √0.15(0.16)
Q = 0.154919338….
Therefore, the rational number is 0.155 and the irrational number is 0.154919338….
