Insert a rational number and an irrational number between 0.0001 and 0.001
Solution:
Given, the numbers are 0.0001 and 0.001.
Rational numbers are numbers which are in the form of p/q, where q is not equal to 0, p and q are integers.
Irrational numbers are numbers which are in decimal form.
To find a rational number R, we use the formula,
R = (p + q)/2
Let p = 0.0001 and q = 0.001, we get,
R = (0.0001 + 0.001)/2
R = (0.0011)/2
R = 0.00055
To find an irrational number Q, we use the formula,
Q = √pq,
where p and q are not perfect squares.
Q = √0.0001(0.001)
Q = 0.0003162278…
Therefore, the rational number is 0.00055 and the irrational number is 2.7225677218.
