Solution:

A rational number is a number that is of the form p/q where p and q are integers and q is not equal to 0.

The given rational numbers are

0 and - 10

So the 3 rational numbers will be -2, -10/5 and -20/10

Therefore, the 3 equivalent rational numbers are -2, -10/5 and -20/10.

It is given that

Length of rope = 48 m

We know that

= 48/ 10/3

Here the reciprocal of 10/3 is 3/10

= 48/1 × 3/10

= 24 × 3/5

= 14.4

= 14

Therefore, the number of such pieces is 14.
