In the given figure, the length of a green side is given by g and that of the red side is given by p
Write an expression for the following pattern. Also write an expression if 100 such shapes are joined together
Solution:
Given, the length of green side is given by g
The length of red side is given by p
We have to write an expression for the given pattern.
Considering one part,
Number of green sides = 2
Length of green sides = 2g
Number of red sides = 2
Length of red sides = 2p
So, length of one figure = (2g + 2p)
From the given figure,
Length of figure = 3(2g + 2p)
= 3(2g) + 3(2p)
= 6g + 6p
Therefore, the required expression is 6g + 6p
Given, 100 such shapes are joined together.
We have to write a expression for the joined shape
Length of the 100 such shapes = 100(2g + 2p)
= 100(2g) + 100(2p)
= 200g + 200p
Therefore, the required expression is 200g + 200p
