In Fig. 6.44, if RP = RQ, find the value of x.
Solution:
Given, PQR is a triangle.
Also, RP = RQ
We have to find the value of x.
We know that the vertically opposite angles are equal.
From the figure,
∠RPQ = ∠1
So, ∠1 = 50°
We know that the angles opposite to the equal sides are equal.
Now, ∠1 = ∠x
So, ∠x = 50°
Therefore, the value of x is 50°.
