In case of loss, C.P. = 100 × SP/[100 + Loss%]. Is the following statement true or false
Solution:
Loss % = - [(SP - CP)/CP] × 100
Loss%/100 = -SP/CP + 1
SP/CP = 1 - Loss%/100
SP/CP = [100 - Loss%]/100
CP = 100 × SP/[100 - Loss%]
Hence the given statement is False.
✦ Try this: If loss is 10% and SP 120 then the CP will be equal to _________?
CP = (100 × 120)/[100 - 20]
= 100 × 120/80
= Rs. 150
