If x/y is a rational number, then y is always a whole number. Is the given statement true or false

Solution:

If a number is a rational number in p/q form, then q should not be equal to zero , else the fraction is invalid

Whole numbers is a set of numbers which also has 0 in it.

Thus if x/y is a rational number, then y cannot take the value 0.

Hence, it is false.
