If the length of each edge of a cube is tripled, what will be the change in its volume?
Solution:
The volume of a cube(V) = s³
Where ‘s’ is the length of edge
If the edge of the cube is tripled the volume will become:
V = (3s)³
V = 27s³
The new volume is 27 times the original volume.
✦ Try This: If the length of each edge of a cube is doubled, what will be the change in its volume?
The volume of a cube(V) = s³
Where ‘s’ is the length of edge
If the edge of cube is double the volume will become:
V = (2s)³
V = 8s³
The volume of the cube will increase to 8 times the original volume.
