If P (– 1, 1), Q (3, – 4), R(1, –1), S(–2, –3) and T (– 4, 4) are plotted on the graph paper, then the point(s) in the fourth quadrant are
a. P and T
b. Q and R
c. Only S
d. P and R
Solution:
The points given are P (– 1, 1), Q (3, – 4), R(1, –1), S(–2, –3) and T (– 4, 4)
Let us plot the points on the graph paper
From the graph we find that (3, -4) and (1, -1) are the points in the IV quadrant
Therefore, the points in the fourth quadrant are Q and R.
✦ Try This: Point (3, -4) lies a. on the x –axis b. in the second quadrant c. on the y-axis d.in the fourth quadrant
