If f (x) = x2, find [f (1.1) - f (1)] / (1.1 - 1)
Solution:
It is given that
f (x) = x2
⇒ f(1.1) = (1.1)2 and f (1) = 12
Hence substituting the above values, we get
⇒[f (1.1) - f (1)] / (1.1 - 1)
= [(1.1)2 - (1)2] / (1.1 - 1)
= (1.21 - 1) / 0.1
= 0.21 / 0.1
[f (1.1) - f (1)] / (1.1 - 1) = 2.1
NCERT Solutions Class 11 Maths Chapter 2 Exercise ME Question 2
If f (x) = x2, find [f (1.1) - f (1)] / (1.1 - 1)
Summary:
A relation f (x) = x2 is given. We have found that the value of [f (1.1) - f (1)] / (1.1 - 1) comes out to be 2.1.
