If a = -1, b = 2, then find the value of the following: ab × b2
Solution:
Given, a = -1 and b = 2.
Using the law of exponents, we have to find the value of ab × b2
ab × b2 = (-1)2 × (2)2
(-1)2 = -1 × -1 = 1
(2)2 = 4
(-1)2 × (2)2 = 1 × 4
= 4
Therefore, ab × b2 = 4
