Solution:
(i) If 25 metres cloth cost Rs. 337.50 then
One metre cloth will cost
Cost of One Metre Cloth = 337.50/25 = Rs. 13.50 metres
This is a direct variation,
Therefore the cost of 40 metres of same type of cloth will be :
Cost of 40 metres of cloth = 40 × 13.5 = Rs. 540
(ii) The length of the cloth that can be bought with Rs. 810 is:
Length of the cloth = 810/13.5 = 60 metres
