How many bricks of size 22 cm × 10 cm × 7 cm are required to construct a wall 11m long, 3.5 m high and 40 cm thick, if the cement and sand used in the construction occupy (1/10)th part of the wall?
Solution:
Volume of the wall = 11× 3.5 × 0.4 = 15.4 m³
Net Volume of the wall = 15.4 - 10% of 15.4 = 13.86 m³
The volume of the Brick is = 0.22 × 0.1 × 0.07 = 0.00154m³
Number of bricks required to construct the wall = 13.86/0.00154 = 9000
Number of bricks required is 9000
✦ Try This: How many bricks of size 22 cm × 10 cm × 7 cm are required to construct a wall 22m long, 7.0 m high and 40 cm thick, if the cement and sand used in the construction occupy (1/10)th part of the wall?
Volume of the wall = 22× 7.0 × 0.4 = 61.6 m³
Net Volume of the wall = 61.6 - 10% of 61.6 = 54.44m³
The volume of the Brick is = 0.22 × 0.1 × 0.07 = 0.00154m³
Number of bricks required to construct the wall = 54.44/0.00154 = 36000
Number of bricks required is 36000
