From the sets given below, select equal sets:
A = {2, 4, 8, 12}, B = {1, 2, 3, 4}, C = {4, 8, 12, 14},
D = {3, 1, 4, 2}, E = {- 1, 1}, F = {0, a},
G = {1, - 1}, H = {0, 1}
Solution:
The given sets are as follows:
A = {2, 4, 8, 12}, B = {1, 2, 3, 4}, C = {4, 8, 12, 14} D = {3, 1, 4, 2}
E = {- 1, 1}, F = {0, a}, G = {1, - 1}, H = {0, 1}
We can see that the elements of B and D are equal though the order is different.
So B = D.
In the same way, we can say that E = G.
We cannot find any other two sets which are equal from the given list.
Hence the equal sets are, B = D and E = G
NCERT Solutions Class 11 Maths Chapter 1 Exercise 1.2 Question 6
From the sets given below, select equal sets: A = {2, 4, 8, 12}, B = {1, 2, 3, 4}, C = {4, 8, 12, 14} D = {3, 1, 4, 2} E = {- 1, 1}, F = {0, a}, G = {1, - 1}, H = {0, 1}
Summary:
We are asked to select equal sets from the sets given below. A = {2, 4, 8, 12}, B = {1, 2, 3, 4}, C = {4, 8, 12, 14} D = {3, 1, 4, 2} E = {- 1, 1}, F = {0, a}, G = {1, - 1}, H = {0, 1}. We have found that B = D and E = G
