For which of the following figures, all angles are equal?
(a) Rectangle
(b) Kite
(c) Trapezium
(d) Rhombus
Solution:
We have to find the figure in which all angles are equal.
(i) Rectangle
A rectangle is a closed two-dimensional figure with four sides. The opposite sides of a rectangle are equal and parallel to each other and all the angles of a rectangle are equal to 90°.
(ii) Kite
A Kite is a quadrilateral in which four sides can be grouped into two pairs of equal-length sides that are adjacent to each other.
(iii) Trapezium
A trapezium is a two-dimensional quadrilateral having a pair of parallel opposite sides.
The opposite parallel sides are referred to as the base and the non-parallel sides are referred to as legs of the trapezium.
(iv) Rhombus
A rhombus can be defined as a special parallelogram as it fulfills the requirements of a parallelogram, i.e. a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.
A rhombus has all four sides equal just like a square. That is why it is also known as a tilted square.
Therefore, the rectangle has all angles equal to 90 degrees.
