Find the value of the following polynomial at a = - 2 and b = 3: (a² + b²)/3
Solution:
The given polynomial is (a² + b²)/3
We have to find the value of the polynomial at a = -2 and b = 3.
a² = (-2)² = 4
b² = (3)² = 9
a² + b² = 4 + 9
= 13
Now, (a² + b²)/3 = 13/3
Therefore, (a² + b²)/3 = 13/3
✦ Try This: Find the value of the following polynomial at a = -3 and b = 3: (a² + b²)/3
Given, the polynomial is (a² + b²)/3
We have to find the value of the polynomial at a = -3 and b = 3.
a² = (-3)² = 9
b² = (3)² = 9
a² + b² = 9 + 9
= 18
Now, (a² + b²)/3 = 18/3 = 6
Therefore, (a² + b²)/3 = 6
