Find the value of following polynomial at m = 1, n = -1 and p = 2: mn + np + pm
Solution:
Given, the polynomial is mn + np + pm
We have to find the value of the polynomial at m = 1, n = -1 and p = 2.
mn = 1(-1) = -1
np = -1(2) = -2
pm = 2(1) = 2
Now, mn + np + pm = -1 + (-2) + 2
= -1 - 2 + 2
= -1
Therefore, mn + np + pm = -1
✦ Try This: Find the value of following polynomial at m = -2, n = -1 and p = 2: mn + np + pm
Given, the polynomial is mn + np + pm
We have to find the value of the polynomial at m = -2, n = -1 and p = 2.
mn = (-2)(-1) = 2
np = -1(2) = -2
pm = 2(-2) = -4
Now, mn + np + pm = 2 - 2 - 4
= -2 - 6
= -4
Therefore, mn + np + pm = -4
