Find the value of following polynomial at m = 1, n = -1 and p = 2: m³ + n³ + p³ - 3mnp
Solution:
The given polynomial is m³ + n³ + p³ - 3mnp
We have to find the value of the polynomial at m = 1, n = -1 and p = 2.
m³ = (1)³ = 1
n³ = (-1)³ = -1
p³ = (2)³ = 8
mnp = (1)(-1)(2) = -2
3mnp = 3(-2) = -6
Now, m³ + n³ + p³ - 3mnp = 1 + (-1) + 8 - (-6)
= 1 - 1 + 8 + 6
= 8 + 6
= 14
Therefore, m³ + n³ + p³ - 3mnp = 14
