Find the perimeter of the given figure.
Solution:
Since the angle subtended by the two arcs at the centre is 90 degree, the length of the arcs will be:
Length of each of the two arcs will be = (1/4) × 2πr (One fourth of the circumference of a circle)
Since r = 6.3
Length of Arc = (1/4) × 2 × (22/7) × (6.3) = 39.6 cm
The perimeter of the figure is = 6.3 + 6.3 + 6.3 + 6.3 + 39.6 + 39.6 = 104.4cm
✦ Try This: Find the perimeter of the given figure.
Since the angle subtended by the two arcs at the centre is 90 degree the length of the arcs will be:
Length of each of the two arcs will be = (1/4) × 2πr (One fourth of the circumference of a circle)
Since r = 7cm
Length of Arc = (1/4) × 2 × (22/7) × (7) = 44 cm
The perimeter of the figure is = 7.0 + 7.0 + 7.0 + 7.0 + 44 + 44 = 116 cm
