Solution:
Given, radius of circle, r = 14 cm
Angle of corresponding sector, θ = 60°
We have to find the area of the minor segment.
Area of minor segment = Area of sector - Area of Triangle
Area of sector = πr²θ/360°
= (22/7)(14)²(60°/360°)
= (22)(2)(14)(1/6)
= 44(7)/3
= 102.67 cm²
Area of triangle = (1/2)r²sinθ
= (1/2)(14)²sin60°
= (14)(7)(√3/2)
= 49√3
= 84.87 cm²
Area of minor segment = 102.67 - 84.87
= 17.799
= 17.8 cm²
Therefore, the area of minor segment is 17.8 cm²
