Find p(0), p(1), p(-2) for the following polynomial : p(y) = (y + 2) (y - 2)
Solution:
Given, the polynomial is p(y) = (y + 2) (y - 2).
We have to find p(0), p(1) and p(-2).
p(0) = (0 + 2)(0 - 2)
= 2(-2)
p(0) = -4
Therefore, the value of the polynomial at p(0) is -4.
p(1) = (1 + 2)(1 - 2)
= 3(-1)
p(1) = -3
Therefore, the value of the polynomial at p(1) is -3.
p(-2) = (-2 + 2)(-2 - 2)
= 0(-4)
p(-2) = 0
Therefore, the value of the- polynomial at p(-2) is 0.
