Find p(0), p(1), p(-2) for the following polynomial : p(x) = 10x - 4x² - 3
Solution:
Given, the polynomial is p(x) = 10x - 4x² - 3.
We have to find p(0), p(1) and p(-2).
p(0) = 10(0) - 4(0)² - 3
= 0 - 3
p(0) = -3
Therefore, the value of the polynomial at p(0) is -3.
p(1) = 10(1) - 4(1)² - 3
= 10 - 4 - 3
= 10 - 7
p(1) = 3
Therefore, the value of the polynomial at p(1) is 3.
p(-2) = 10(-2) - 4(-2)² - 3
= -20 - 4(4) - 3
= -20 - 16 - 3
= -36 - 3
p(-2) = -39
Therefore, the value of the polynomial at p(-2) is -39.
