To solve this question we will take the L.C.M of the denominator of the rational numbers or convert them into like fractions.

After converting them into like fractions, the arrangement can easily be done by comparing the numerators.

(i) - 5/7 _ 2/3

LCM of 7 and 3 is 21

(-5 × 3)/(7 × 3) _ (2 × 7)/(3 × 7)

-15/21 < 14/21

Therefore, -5/7 < 2/3

(ii) -4/5 _ -5/7

LCM of 5 and 7 is 35

(-4 × 7)/(5 × 7) _ (-5 × 5)/(7 × 5)

-28/35 < -25/35

Therefore, -4/5 < -5/7

(iii) -7/8 _ 14/-16

(-7 × 2)/(8 × 2) _ 14/-16

-14/16 = -14/16

Therefore, -7/8 = 14/-16

(iv) -8/5 _ -7/4

(-8 × 4)/(5 × 4) _ (-7 × 5)/(4 × 5)

-32/20 > -35/20

Therefore, -8/5 > -7/4

(v) 1/-3 _ -1/4

(1 × 4)/(-3 × 4) _ (-1 × 3)/(4 × 3)

-4/12 < -3/12

Therefore, 1/-3 < -1/4

(vi) 5/-11 _ -5/11

-5/11 = -5/11

Therefore, 5/-11 = -5/11.

(vii) 0 _ -7/6

Here, since all the negative numbers are less than zero, hence,

0 > -7/6
