Factorization of an algebraic expression refers to finding out the factors of the given algebraic expression.
In the given expression 6ab + 12bc,
The first term, 6ab can be factorized as: 2 × 3 × a × b and
the second term, 12bc can be factorized as : 2 × 2 × 3 × b × c
The common factor for both the terms is 2 × 3 × b = 6b
Taking out the common factor we get,
6ab + 12bc = 6b(a + 2c)
