Express the following in single exponential form: (- 11)² × (-2)²
Solution:
Given, (- 11)² × (-2)².
We have to express it in a single exponential form.
For any non-zero integers ‘a’ and ‘b’ and whole numbers m and n,
am × bm = (a × b)m
Considering (- 11)² × (-2)²,
Here, a = -11 and b = -2
Also, m = 2
(a × b)m = ((-11) × (-2))²
= (11 × 2)²
= 22²
Therefore, the required value is 22².
