Expand using suitable identities: (a² + b²)²
Solution:
Given, (a² + b²)²
Using standard identity: (x + y)² = x² + 2xy + y²
Here, x = a² and y = b²
(a² + b²)² = (a²)² + [2(a²)(b²)] + (b²)²
= a⁴ + 2a²b² + b⁴
✦ Try This: Expand using suitable identities: (3p² + 2q²)²
Using standard identity: (x + y)² = x² + 2xy + y²
(3p² + 2q²)² = (3p²)² + [2(3p²)(2q²)] + (2q²)²
= 9p⁴ + 12p²q² + 4q⁴
