Solution:
Steps of construction
1. Construct a line l and mark a point C outside it.
2. Take a point B on line l and now join BC.
3. Construct a line parallel to line l passing through the point C.
4. On the line m, mark a point D at a distance of 2.2 cm from C.
5. Through the point D, construct AD parallel to BC.
6. Now line l is parallel to line m.
If AD || BC, AB = DC = 2.2 cm
Therefore, two parallel lines at a distance of 2.2 cm apart are constructed.
